From thrilling finals and a record U18 tournament to the continued growth of women’s rugby, the 2026 Howden Melrose Sevens gave us plenty to celebrate. The Greenyards came alive once again on 22nd and 23rd May 2026 as players, supporters, families and volunteers gathered for another unforgettable weekend at the birthplace of rugby sevens.

Be part of the next generation of Sevens at the birthplace of the game. Melrose Sevens is inviting expressions of interest from clubs and teams wishing to take part in both our U18 boys’ and U18 girls’ tournaments on Friday 21st May 2027, with the finals taking place at the Greenyards on Saturday 22nd May.

The Howden Melrose Sevens has significantly expanded its youth offering for 2026, increasing the U18 Tournament to 16 teams after receiving more than 35 applications from across the UK and overseas.
