GETTING HERE

Melrose Sevens takes place at The Greenyards, in the heart of Melrose in the Scottish Borders.

The ground is just a short walk from the town centre, making it easy to enjoy the wider atmosphere of Sevens weekend, with cafés, bars, restaurants and shops all nearby.

By Car

Melrose is easily accessible by road from Edinburgh, the Central Belt and across the Scottish Borders.

The town becomes particularly busy during Sevens weekend, so we recommend allowing extra time for your journey and arriving early where possible.

Parking

Event parking will be available at The Glebe, within walking distance of the Greenyards.

Please follow event signage and directions from stewards when you arrive.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Tweedbank, which has regular services to and from Edinburgh Waverley on the Borders Railway. From Tweedbank, Melrose is just a short onward journey by shuttle bus, taxi or on foot.

By Bus

Local and regional bus services connect Melrose with surrounding towns and villages, including Galashiels and Tweedbank. We recommend checking timetables in advance, particularly for your return journey after the event.

Taxis

Local taxis operate throughout the Scottish Borders and can provide an easy connection between Tweedbank station, accommodation and the Greenyards. Sevens weekend is a busy time, so booking in advance is recommended where possible.

The Greenyards

The Greenyards is the historic home of Melrose Rugby and the birthplace of rugby sevens.

The main tournament action takes place on the famous Greenyards pitch, with additional rugby, entertainment and activity across the wider club grounds and surrounding event areas throughout the weekend.

Visitors will also find food and drink, the Family Food Village, Fanzone, hospitality and live entertainment across the site.

Getting Around

Once you arrive in Melrose, much of Sevens weekend can be enjoyed on foot.

The Greenyards, town centre and wider event areas are all close together, making it easy to park up, explore Melrose and enjoy everything happening across the weekend.

Plan ahead, arrive early and make a weekend of it.
